For Workshops

We are developing a series of three workshops to (1) raise awareness of current challenges in the publishing ecosystem and (2) address those challenges by educating and training future authors, reviewers, and editors in society publishing.

The first two workshops target (i) early-stage early career researchers who are publishing their first few papers and are interested in learning more about the process and how to increase their success, and (ii) late-stage early career researchers who are have published multiple papers and are interested in learning about how to review better, become an associate editor, and align these service roles with their own careers. These two workshops may be offered online or in-person and are excellent precursors to scientific conferences. The workshop materials are provided here for re-use.

The third workshop, aimed at associate editors interested in learning more about the roles and responsibilities of senior editors is in development. We anticipate this will be offered online only, reflecting the challenges of regularly finding sufficient AEs at a single conference to warrant an in-person workshop.
